Repetition

"I Feel For Him" by Avery Simmons

Shield
Don't feel
Shield
Don't feel

Then the doors close

Then I explode

The tears are running
My body is shaking
I go to a place
A place where no one knows

I get to feel
To break the shields
And to let it all go

One day I met him

He has no shield
And I feel
He feels the same
We
Feel the same

But what if
If He wants to feel what I feel

Will he dry the tears
Or will he laugh at my fears
Will he calm my screams
Or will they ruin my self esteem

I cant
I cant do this
Shield don't feel
Don't feel what he feels
Conceal, conceal, conceal

The doors are closed

I explode

I feel
I burn down the shields

All I feel
Is him
I feel him

I cry for him
I scream for him
I feel for him

I find him

I open the doors
I bring him in
I close the doors

I show him what I feel

I explode

I cry
I shake
I scream
I feel

And he feels what I feel
He dries my tears
He holds me near
He calms my fears

Now we feel for each other
I saw him in a way
That can't be explained
He saw the real me
He saw my insecurities
And I know its going to be okay

Repetition is the act of saying or doing something again; the act of repeating something. In this case Simmons repeats a few times. When she says "conceal" she says that 3 times in on line.

Avery attends CSAS in Chattanooga, TN. She has been writing for almost her life. Not only is she a outstanding writer, but she is also a straight "A" student. When Simmons was in 5th grade she received an award for her poetry. Writing is her passion, she is entering in a competition to show people what she loves. The competition she is entering in is called ACT-SO. This competition is a good way to get critique on her poem to see what she can do better.

I chose this photo of a couple holding hands because they probably have been through a lot to get where they are now. You have to be able to tell them your past so you can except you for who you are and not judge you. The couple holding hands will never left go of each other or hold each other accountable for their past.
